Editor
Nic was Senior Commissioning Editor at Headline, part of Hachette, and their boutique romance imprint Headline Eternal, home of bestselling authors such as Sarah Adams, Erin Sterling, and Mariana Zapata. Nic edited a wide range of commercial, historical, romance, and mystery fiction from authors such as Christina Courtenay, Muna Shehadi, Jo Watson, Julie Brooks, and Rebecca Hardy. She also acquired romcoms from Jennifer Hennessy and New York Times bestseller Maisey Yates. Previously, Nic spent over nine years in editorial at renowned romance publisher Harlequin Mills & Boon, where she worked with authors including Michelle Smart, Jackie Ashenden, Kelly Hunter, Ann McIntosh, Marcella Bell, and Lydia San Andres. Nic has hosted craft workshops at romance writing conferences across the world. She has a BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Exeter.

During her time at Headline, Nic edited a wide range of commercial fiction, including historical fiction, romance and mystery from Christina Courtenay, Muna Shehadi, Jo Watson, Julie Brooks and Rebecca Hardy. She was also thrilled to acquire romcoms from Jennifer Hennessy and New York Times bestseller Maisey Yates.
Prior to her role at Headline, Nic spent nine years on the editorial team at renowned romance publisher Harlequin Mills & Boon, where she was proud to work with many fabulous authors, including Michelle Smart, Jackie Ashenden, Kelly Hunter, Ann McIntosh, Marcella Bell and Lydia San Andres. In this role, Nic especially enjoyed working with aspiring authors to polish their submissions, as well as hosting open submission calls and social media pitch events.
After a decade of experience in the publishing industry, Nic loves to talk about what makes a great commercial novel, and has given workshops on characterization, conflict, and demystifying the publishing process at romance writing conferences in the U.K., U.S.A., Australia and New Zealand. She believes the best editorial advice is clear, kind, and empowers an author to make their own choices about how to make their book the very best it can be.
