Blood Orange was a Richard and Judy Book Club pick. Long-listed for the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year 2020. Shortlisted for the Dead Good Reader Awards 2019. It has been translated into 22 languages and she has been described as 'The new Paula Hawkins'. 'Keep your eyes on Tyce' warns Booklist. Her second novel, The Lies You Told (2020) is another bestselling page-turner which has won acclaim from thriller authors such as Lisa Jewell: “I read The Lies You Told in two days, barely able to turn the pages fast enough. It’s spare and taut, the sense of wrongness building in chilling, skilfully written layers, with a jaw-dropping last line twist.” Sophie Hannah describes her writing as "totally addictive" and of her latest novel, Alex Michaelides says: “A slow-burning mystery, full of intrigue and menace, it creeps on you until that final explosive twist.”
Writing Crime Fiction? Harriet's the Tutor for You.
Harriet Tyce was born and grew up in Edinburgh. She did a degree in English Literature at Oxford University before a law conversion course at City University, following which she was a criminal barrister for nearly ten years. Having escaped law and early motherhood, she started writing, and completed the MA in Creative Writing – Crime Fiction at the University of East Anglia. She lives in north London with her husband and children, and two rather demanding pets, a cat and a dog. If you're writing a thriller, crime, mystery, suspense or a psychological thriller, you'll find Harriet a wise and brilliant tutor.
Alison has it all. A doting husband, adorable daughter, and a career on the rise - she's just been given her first murder case to defend. But all is never as it seems... Just one more night. Then I'll end it.
The Lies You Told
Sadie loves her daughter and will do anything to keep her safe. She can't tell her why they had to leave home so quickly - or why Robin's father won't be coming with them to London.
