Writing Coach
Multiple Sunday Times bestselling author of Up Lit, witty contemporary fiction, and parenting diaries.

Sarah Turner is the Sunday Times bestselling author of two contemporary Up Lit novels and three non-fiction parenting books. Her first novel, Stepping Up, was an instant Sunday Times bestseller and a Richard and Judy Book Club pick in 2023. It was also featured on BBC Radio 4’s A Good Read. Her second novel, On the Edge, reached the top spot in the Kindle chart in 2025.
Prior to writing novels, Sarah wrote three non-fiction parenting books after the ‘warts and all’ blog she’d started to let off steam gathered enormous online success and changed the direction of her career in the process. Her first book, The Unmumsy Mum, was voted number 4 in Amazon’s Top 10 books of 2016 by Amazon customers and shortlisted for a British Book Award in 2017. All three titles in the Unmumsy Mum series were Sunday Times bestsellers.
Sarah’s books have been described as hilarious, warm, witty, and life-affirming and have garnered praise from Jennie Godfrey, Clare Mackintosh, Gillian McAllister, Sophie Cousens, and Cathy Bramley. Sarah was described by Glamour magazine as ‘pure joy.’
Sarah has a passion for writing comedy and enjoys exploring complex family dynamics and grief, always striving to achieve a balance between humor and poignancy.
Sarah lives in Devon with her husband, three sons, and Frank the cat. If you’re writing women’s fiction, Up Lit, or anything contemporary with a focus on relationships, families, and midlife, you’ll find Sarah to be a positive and encouraging writing coach. ‘The key to being a good writer is to show up. On the days you feel inspired and the words are flowing. On the days you don’t feel inspired and self-doubt is circling. No writing day is ever wasted and when you’ve already come this far, you owe it to yourself to persevere. Show up and keep showing up.’
