"An idyllic retreat for serious writers looking to tackle their novel-writing head on. The perfect setting with a wonderful host, led by the most brilliant writer and mentor, Louise Dean. I started my time at the retreat with a novel-in-progress that wasn't working but I couldn't quite figure out why. I leave with an overhauled concept, a better story, and the support of all the writers on the retreat who cheered me on as I found my way. I will most certainly be back – thank you, The Novelry."

Katie Khan
Author - Hold Back the Stars, The Light Between Us.

"If you get the chance to go on The Novelry retreat, grab it with both hands. You will be well taken care of and your work will take off in ways you never expected. It was perfect."

Sara Bailey
Author - Dark Water

"A unique and inspiring experience. Being in the company of such interesting, varied, and accomplished writers meant my own writing developed further than I could have hoped. The peaceful atmosphere is totally conducive to a productive writing week. The food is delicious, the accommodation is luxurious. I can't wait to return."

Gabrielle McLaughlin

"A wonderful venue in the peaceful, beautiful Dorset countryside. Fantastic accommodation, superb food, peace and quiet to write, and the opportunity for constructive and invaluable input from Louise. A great bunch of talented people, all committed to their writing. I felt I made real progress. "

Alison Fisher

"This was an intense week. It allowed total focus on writing and the art of writing but allowed for flexibility and personal choice. Spending this time in such a rich environment was incredibly productive and stimulating. If time and money allowed, I’d attend every retreat in the calendar!"

Andrew Burns

" A wonderful experience in a beautiful setting. It was the first writing retreat I have been on and I hope not the last. The free structure worked well enabling me to write for much of the day. With a 1-2-1 session, I was able to get the direction for the week. Reading my own work and listening to other authors novel openings was amazing. A truly wonderful experience bringing together a great supportive environment. Met as strangers, left as friends, a must-do for any author. "

Sonia Ovenden

"The Bridport Retreat exceeded my expectations. I came away restored, with a renewed commitment to my writing practice and a much stronger novel. The tranquil Marshwood Vale, exceptional food and late-night storytelling fuelled productive writing days. Louise has created something truly special. I’d go back in a heartbeat."

Shelley Motz

"The Novelry Retreat was absolute bliss. Dedicated time just to focus on my writing project in an inspiring venue and amongst great company - what a treat! The support and advice of Louise and the other attendees was so very generous and just the kick up the backside that I needed."

Kat Hill

"A wonderful retreat in the company of writers seeking to refine their skills and become published authors. The atmosphere was collegial, supportive, and enlightening. I enjoyed learning about other genres and experiences beyond my own. This will help me as I work to finish my book."

Walter Smith

"This was invaluable to me. When you get to the point where you know your writing isn’t there yet and you can’t see why, Louise can see why. She can also get you to see it, in such a way that you feel you’ve grown a stage as a writer. Not to mention the friendliness and relaxed manner of the hosts, the comfort of the cottages. The views!"

Jacqui Putnam

"A Retreat that lets you take care of your writing while they take care of you. The perfect, immersive experience."

Gilli Fryzer
