Writers Group

The world’s favourite writing community for novelists.

With live weekly writing classes and special events in every time zone.

Our Writing Group

Sign up for a course and join the writing group where writing is serious fun.

Writing can be a solitary endeavor, and we know it’s hard to judge your own work without getting lost in self doubt. It’s hard to find online writing groups where you can enjoy all things writing and get sensible but honest feedback and genre specific advice from like minded authors.

That’s why our founder started The Novelry. After writing solo for twenty years, she felt she needed to work with other writers, and she decided to build an active community of novelists and a critique circle of trust.

When you sign up for one of our writing courses, youll have immediate access to our online writing community where you can share your writing goals and get constructive feedback on your writing in a supportive environment.

You’ll be welcomed into one of the top online writing communities with 5* reviews from writers from every corner of the globe. You’ll meet writers from the USA, the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and make new writing friends.

We’re the largest writing community exclusively for novelists, where you’ll meet like minded authors. We pride ourselves on a safe and supportive space where serious writing is fun and our members, writers like you, are people who understand how to give valuable feedback to other writers.

Youll find specialist writing forums for fantasy fiction, science fiction, crime and suspense fiction, historical fiction, romance, literary fiction, young adult, childrens fiction, memoir and more. It's an international forum, open around the clock, world wide. What’s more, when you’re a member you can get professional feedback from our editorial team, formerly of Penguin Random House and other Big 5 publishers.

Progress your writing with our program of weekly writing classes. Meet publishing industry professionals in Q&A sessions online and find the literary agents youd love to work with.

The Online Writing Group

Our online writing community offers writers a safe space to share their thoughts and keep up to date with the latest writing advice and publishing industry news. Only users of our writing courses are members, so youll be able to share the ups and downs of the writer’s life with your peers.

No more writer’s block! You'll get the boost you need, when you need it, from your writing friends. Our writing group is a haven for our mostly women writers and you’ll find older and younger writers writing in all genres of fiction. Share your work at second draft and beyond at our online workshop for fast feedback from brilliant beta readers, writers like you, who will encourage you on a daily basis. It’s always National Novel Writing Month at The Novelry. Leave that Facebook group behind! Our buzzing active community is an ad-free, safe space, closed and secure, bound by terms of confidentiality, allowing you to be yourself as a writer among trusted new friends and like minded people.

The main thing is to surround yourself with others who are writing so that it feels normal. When you see other people writing, you know you can do it, too.

—Tayari Jones, winner of the Women’s Prize for Fiction

Writing Craft Workshops

Problems? Questions? Motivation lacking? Drop into one of our weekly Story Clinic sessions  where you’ll get the chance to ask established writers for advice and hear how your fellow writers are progressing with their own writing too. One of our writer coaches will be there to offer advice and steer the conversation through aspects of the creative process. Our regular classes will ensure you move past writer’s block fast. Meet other writers at regular genre group workshops. You’ll write alongside those also living a life of crime, fantasy or science-fiction, and more. Meet historical fiction writers from all over the globe and those writing young adult fiction or children’s fiction. In the guided workshops, you’ll get advice and writing prompts, genre specific challenges and exercises to help you develop your writing. Our Let’s Play Writing workshop is a much loved feature of our writing program. Writers get to let their hair down with group writing tasks and breakout rooms to explore character development and plot twists, putting together flash fiction and short stories to refresh their creativity. Don’t forget Book Club, a chance to go beyond the written words on the page to explore the story from the inside out.

Writing Together Online
