Writing Craft Workshops
Problems? Questions? Motivation lacking? Drop into one of our weekly Story Clinic sessions where you’ll get the chance to ask established writers for advice and hear how your fellow writers are progressing with their own writing too. One of our author coaches will be there to offer advice and steer the conversation through aspects of the creative process. Our regular classes and workshops will ensure you move past writer’s block fast. Meet other writers at regular genre group workshops. You’ll write alongside those also living a life of crime, fantasy or science-fiction, and more. Meet historical fiction writers from all over the globe and those writing young adult fiction or children’s fiction. In the guided workshops, you’ll get advice and writing prompts and exercises to help you develop your writing. Our Let’s Play Writing workshop is a much loved feature of our writing program. Writers get to let their hair down with group writing tasks and breakout rooms to explore character development, plot twists and putting together flash fiction and short stories to refresh their creativity. Don’t forget Book Club, a chance to go beyond the written words on the page to explore the story from the inside out.
Live Writing Classes and Catch Up TV
Find out how your favourite authors (really) wrote that book. From the seeds of the idea for the story, through their plotting and planning process, from first draft to final draft and how becoming a bestselling author has changed their lives. The Sunday Team Chats
Pop into the monthly Sunday sessions with our founder with a cup of tea or your favourite tipple and find out what your fellow writers are writing and why, along with news, tips and advice from Louise Dean. Every session includes a warm welcome to new members, who will have the chance to introduce themselves and a chance to meet each other in an informal, jolly and relaxed setting hosted by your course director.
